Yedup Limited is a Belfast-based company developing artificial intelligence that enables machines to understand social media conversations faster and better. This is a global market because companies, brands and investors want to know what the world is saying on social media about the issues that matter to their business – and market leaders want this information in real-time.
For time critical Fintech applications, Yedup analyses up to 5,000 social media posts per second and extracts current investor mood and opinions on traded equities and other assets. Yedup delivers proprietary low-latency trading signals that ensures Hedge Funds and High Frequency Traders are first to know when profitable trading opportunities arise from new information breaking on social media.
The company was co-founded by two mathematicians, Dr Martin Spollen and Paul McWilliams, to commercialise their technological innovations in real-time adaptive machine intelligence. Both are pioneers of a new class of methods that improve significantly the ability of machines to understand and synthesise the unstructured and evolving language encountered on social media. The team now includes former head of low latency trading systems at the NYSE and member of the British Standards Panel for C++.
