Speaker Bio:

Denise Manton is the Research Unit Manager for the Mobile Services Unit of the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group (TSSG, www.tssg.org) at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT, www.wit.ie). Denise graduated with a BSc. Computer Applications from Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) in 2001 and also holds a first class honours in an MSc. in Technology Management from UCC.

Denise combines her extensive experience and knowledge working on high-profile projects for multi-national companies in the Life Sciences sector with TSSG’s ability to deliver high quality ICT research and commercial results.

The combination of ‘Life Sciences’ + ‘Mobile Tech’ has formed a solid platform for Denise to drive several leading edge Connected Health initiatives between TSSG and its partners (both academic and industry based). These include focus on: Point of Care solutions, Med.io (cloud based platforms that facilitate real-time communication with sensorised device/drug delivery systems advanced data analyses and associated data visualisations via mobile interfaces) and NextGen Healthcare enabled through nanotechnology and Internet of Bio-Nano Things (IoBNT)
