Donna is a Certified Data Protection Officer with a background in law, finance, strategy, risk management, governance and project management. SUSI is the single national awarding authority for the administration of Student Grant funding in Ireland. Donna has worked across multi-disciplined teams with whole of organisation responsibility and provides a focal point for independent advice and guidance on the conduct of business, governance and regulatory compliance. Donna is currently managing the implementation of recommendations from a deep-dive data protection audit, a remediation roadmap for GDPR compliance and a Privacy Impact Assessment on an ICT system that will facilitate the d processing of multi-party student grant applications and sharing of information with other government bodies.Working in an organisation that controls, processes and shares a vast amount of personal data Donna sees the GDPR as an opportunity for organisations, both private and public to enhance and align current systems and procedures, deepen digital trust and build on reputations.
