Presentation Synopsis:
The talk will discuss why organisations undertake M&A’s and how, despite years of research, failure rates are still so high at 80%. It will focus on why integration is the number one reason for such high failure rates (50%) and will provide a holistic solution to pre-acquisition planning and post-acquisition integration implementation. This solution offered, is all encompassing one that looks at Cultural and Organisational fit factors (which are typically overlooked in most deals) and why these fit factors are a major reason for M&A failure rates. The solution provided also includes Financial and Strategic fit factor aspects and suggests that integration planning needs to be looked at from the outset of the deal life, right through to 2- 3 years post-integration.
