Elaine’s talk will cover the following topics; founders background and start up story, scaling up manufacturing for retail, the landscape of Irish dairy, marketing to millennials and the future for Improper Butter.

Speaker Bio:
In the summer of 2013, fresh out of university, best pals Elaine Lavery and Hannah O’Reilly turned their shared love of grass-fed butter into start-up business, Improper Butter, that now supplies product to retail multiples across Ireland and the UK. With Lavery’s experience as a chalet chef and O’Reillys love of luxury consumer goods, the idea was to create a new way of branding, packaging and promoting grass-fed butter to millennials.
In just two years this young company has won a number of awards, including Great Taste Awards (2014 and 2015), Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (2014) and was listed as one of the top 20 Foodpreneurs by Virgin Start Up in 2015.
Plans for 2016 include further product innovation and further penetration of the UK market.
